Hands extended –
reached out
and accepted
Walls of resistance
slowly started crumbling
With each day came
new opportunities
The barriers were not
completely destroyed
Their foundation still
intact to be rebuilt later
Without speaking we knew
We knew what was needed
The encouragement for our
separate lives
She loved him for needing her
