A story of love – the finale

I say my husband has always worked nights. Of the 20 years we’ve been married, it’s more like 13 years that he has worked nights. Many consistent years of working night shift with smaller stints of days. If you’ve read the previous posts, you should have read that I didn’t retire from the military, I live half way across the country from all of my immediate family, only have one child. Very far from my initial wants in life. I think the message intended was to show that although you may not have your dreams and desires in front of you, you’re still alive and can still be happy with what you do have. I’ve sacrificed, compromised, given up a lot for someone else. At 42, I can clearly see that now. I may not be able to check those 20 year old wants off my checklist, but I can add new ones. And I have. I love. It might not be what you think it is and really only one person will understand what that love is. But I do love. Life is truly about compromise and understanding. Just make sure you’re not always the one compromising
